Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Journalist at Ingrid Schmidt. The Journalist will be responsible for writing press releases, news writing, conducting research, and broadcasting. Their day-to-day tasks include gathering news stories, interviewing sources, fact-checking information, and producing engaging content.
Key Responsibilities
1. Original Reporting & Content Creation:
- Research, pitch, develop, and write original feature stories, profiles, interviews, and cultural analysis pieces.
- Ensure factual accuracy, clarity, and journalistic neutrality across all written outputs.
- Maintain exclusivity and high editorial standards in line with the company’s bespoke publishing strategy.
2. Editorial Collaboration & Storyboarding:
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and external media stakeholders on assignment conceptualization.
- Participate in long-term editorial calendar planning, theme development, and strategic storytelling.
3. Interview & Source Management:
- Identify, vet, and secure interviews with high-profile individuals, industry leaders, and expert sources.
- Prepare background briefs, facilitate interviews (remote and in-person), and transcribe source materials for publication.
4. Platform Optimization:
- Format written content to comply with web, newsletter, and syndication formatting standards.
- Work with digital teams to implement SEO, headline optimization, and multimedia enhancement.
5. Brand Representation & Discretion:
- Serve as a professional, public-facing ambassador for Ingrid Schmidt at virtual and in-person press events, screenings, or red carpet events (as required).
- Uphold the company’s values of confidentiality, sophistication, and industry discretion.
6. Research & Development:
- Conduct in-depth secondary and primary research to support editorial positions.
- Monitor trends in global culture, publishing, and media to maintain relevance and authority.
7. Compliance & Ethics:
- Adhere strictly to journalistic codes of conduct, including source confidentiality, anti-plagiarism, and fact-checking.
- Stay abreast of global reporting guidelines and media law developments.
Qualifications

Work Schedule & Hours
- Full-Time Commitment: 40+ hours per week
- Core Operating Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible; based on assignments)
- Availability for evening and weekend assignments when covering special events, awards, or interviews.
- Annual Base Salary Range: $82,000 – $128,000 USD (commensurate with experience and published portfolio prestige)
- Annual Performance Bonus: Up to 15% of base salary, tied to KPIs and editorial excellence
- Signing Bonus: $3,500 USD (upon successful onboarding)
