Journalist - Oil Markets News - News Corp

As a member of OPIS Oil Markets news team, you will be responsible for covering breaking news focused on midstream & downstream markets and developments that could affect prices and supply. You will participate in daily team coverage of NYMEX crude oil and refined products futures. You will also write industry trend and analysis stories. You will report to the OPIS News Director.

This is a remote role, but proximity to the Houston area is preferred.

**You Will:**

+ Report and write breaking news and analysis on the U.S. and international crude oil and refined product markets focused on the midstream and downstream sectors, as well as broader trends in the industry, including the transition to lower-carbon fuels

+ Cultivate and foster relationships with industry sources and market participants

+ Contribute to social media content, blog postings, industry analysis

+ Uphold, follow, and adhere to the OPIS compliance policy, code of ethics, and methodologies

+ Occasionally travel to industry events and conferences

**You Have:**

+ At least 2 years’ journalism experience, preferably in energy markets

+ Developed news and content creation strategies

+ Worked in newsrooms with daily and weekly publishing deadlines

+ Used Google Suite products

+ Experience with news editing (preferred)

+ Public speaking experience (preferred)

+ Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, other relevant field -OR- Equivalent Work Experience

Pay Range: $80,000 – $100,000
