  • Assess Joint Force Effectiveness: Evaluate Joint Force operations, concepts, doctrine, and capabilities using an understanding of U.S., Allied, partner, and adversary forces to identify lessons and opportunities for operational adaptation.
  • Support Deployable Analytic Teams (DATs): Deploy worldwide in support of exercises and real world operations to conduct observations, interviews, data collection, analysis, and reporting for the Joint Lessons Assessment Center (JLAC).
  • Apply Advanced Analytical Tools: Leverage artificial intelligence (AI), large language models, knowledge management tools, and the Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS) to research, synthesize, manage, and extract actionable insights from large datasets.
  • Advance Joint Force Learning and Adaptation: Integrate operational observations, lessons learned, and cross-functional analysis to support Joint Warfighting Concept implementation, joint doctrine, functional‑area assessments, and continuous Joint Force improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Exceptional analytical writing and communication skills with experience producing executive summaries, analytical papers, assessments, lessons learned, insights, best practices, and senior‑leader briefings.
  • Ability to travel worldwide, to include areas considered hazardous duty (up to 25% of the time).
  • Ability to obtain a US passport.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Experience supporting the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Joint Task Forces, Services, Joint Force Development, or Joint Lessons Learned programs.
  • Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I/II, Command and General Staff College, Senior Service College, or equivalent joint/operational education.
  • Knowledge of advanced warfighting concepts with experience developing or assessing operational plans, orders, and joint military operations.
