HII in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a Joiner to perform core shipbuilding tasks. You will install bulkheads, ceilings, doors, windows, stairs and furniture, turning unfinished ship compartments into living and working spaces.
The role requires reading blueprints, carrying out carpentry and light electrical tasks, and adhering to safety regulations. This is a solid entry on the shipyard career path with progression through four classes and opportunities to develop craft skills.
Full Time [Non-Exempt] HII - Pascagoula, MS
Performs all tasks required to install bulkheads, ceilings, doors, windows, stairs, and furniture in various types of vessels or other marine structures. The unfinished structure of a vessel is finished into living, work, and leisure/recreation spaces.

1.High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent and experience using basic hand tools.
1.Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required
2.Familiarity with blueprints and drawings
3.Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions
4.Ability to take directions and follow instructions
5.Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
6.Ability to work on beams, scaffolding, ladders and confined spaces
7.Ability to work a variety of assignments and locations on a daily or hourly basis.
8.Strong ability to be reliable, dependable and work as a team
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
This is a progression position encompassing four classes: 4th class, 3rd class, 2nd class, and 1st class. More complex duties and time in progression is required to move from one classification to another.
