Job summary

Bowman Steel LLC is seeking an experienced Job Shop Fabricator to join our in-house structural steel fabrication team in Summerfield, FL. You will work with the Shop Foreman to fabricate components safely, accurately, and efficiently, reading drawings and cutting lists, and welding to project specifications.

Qualifications

• Previous steel fabrication experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints.
• Strong MIG welding skills.
• Willingness to complete a welding and blueprint-reading skills evaluation.
• Experience operating common fabrication machinery and tools.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel components safely, accurately, and efficiently with the Shop Foreman.
• Follow all safety procedures and quality standards.
• Read and interpret drawings, plans, blueprints, and fabrication details.
• Understand structural steel construction terminology and shop equipment.
• Review and work from cut lists.
• Measure, layout, cut, fit, and fabricate steel components.
• Perform MIG welding to required standards.
• Fabricate handrails and other miscellaneous steel components from drawings.
• Operate forklifts and assist with loading and unloading trucks.
• Safely operate fabrication equipment including band saws, plasma tables, press brakes, pipe benders, shears, ironworkers, pipe copers, cutting torches.
• Proficiently use handheld grinders and other fabrication tools.
• Apply knowledge of angles, measurements, layout, and fit-up.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and vendors when required.
• Maintain an organized and productive work area.
• Contribute to a positive company culture.
• Complete additional shop and fabrication duties as assigned.

Bowman Steel is certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and has been an industry leader for approximately 30 years, supporting construction projects throughout the southeastern United States and as far north as Virginia.

We are looking for a skilled fabricator who takes initiative, stays organized, manages time effectively, and communicates professionally with supervisors and coworkers. This is a full-time opportunity with overtime available based on production needs.

Your New Role

As a Job Shop Fabricator, you will work closely with the Shop Foreman to fabricate steel components safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:
