Job summary

Our Just Future in Portland, OR seeks a Job Search Specialist to help participants in the JOBS program with resume development, interview prep, and employment placement. The role emphasizes individualized support, workforce case management, and building relationships with participants and community partners.

You will collaborate with DHS staff, navigate barriers, and connect people to opportunities, contributing to their housing and self-sufficiency goals in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social services or related field; six months case management or housing experience or one year combined social services work.
• Experience developing and implementing individualized service plans.
• Experience providing housing navigation, case management, or direct services to homeless or housing-insecure individuals.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, Assertive Engagement, motivational interviewing, or similar approaches.
• Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing, and housing resources; ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized job search support: resume development, interview prep, applications, job fairs and prep activities.
• Provide workforce case management: assessments, Employment Plan, work readiness, skill building, placement.
• Connect participants with employment and volunteer opportunities aligned to skills and goals.
• Identify barriers to employment and link to resources to support success.
• Collaborate with Resource Navigation Specialists and DHS staff to leverage community resources.
• Maintain regular communication with DHS case managers regarding participant activity and progress.
• Track attendance and progress using multiple database systems.
