Job summary

CMD Electric, a leading electrical contracting company with headquarters in San Diego and projects across Southern California, seeks a Senior Electrical Project Manager to drive the execution of complex electrical construction projects and maintain client relationships.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of electrical PM experience on contracts over $5M, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, ACCUBID experience, and PMI/DBIA credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of electrical project management experience on large-scale projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, business, or related field (field experience acceptable).
• Estimating experience with Accubid and change orders; PMP or DBIA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish objectives and performance standards aligned with policy.
• Lead construction and ensure contract compliance and negotiations.
• Manage contracts, change orders, and claims resolution.
• Maintain relationships with clients and internal teams; provide updates.

Job Overview:As a Senior Electrical Project Manager at CMD Electric, you will play a pivotal role in executing electrical construction projects, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, and building strong relationships with both internal team members and clients. This position requires a disciplined and collaborative professional with a proventrack recordin electrical project management.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute projectobjectivesand performance standards in alignment with corporate policies.
• Lead and oversee all aspects of construction, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
• Participate in contract negotiations and ensure all contractual obligations are met.
• Manage and administer contracts, including change orders and claims resolution.
• Develop and maintainrelationships with internal team members and clients, fosteringa high levelof credibility.
• Regularly communicate project updates, milestones, and potential challenges to clients.
• Develop, manage, and monitorproject budgets to ensure financialobjectivesare met.
• Identifycost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety standards.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of electrical project management experience in public works, federal, or private projects with individual contract values exceeding $5 million and portfolios exceeding $20 million. Multi-family experiencea plus!
• Preferably holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related fields. Field experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Estimating experience w/ accubidchange ordera plus!
• PMP or equivalent a plus!
• Capable of managing and mentoring project engineers and interns.
• Experienced in the design-build delivery method, with preference for DBIA accreditation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
