Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Specialist and Claims Coordinator coordinates safety programs that protect team members and support safe working conditions. This role manages key risk-prevention activities, including workers' compensation and general liability claims, fleet vehicle management systems, federal OSHA logs, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management, Wrench reporting, and Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) maintenance. The successful candidate works efficiently,demonstratesexceptional attention to detail, manages multiple priorities, stays organized, and performs effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, exempt, at-will position withadditionalearning incentives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own full-cycle workers' compensation and general liability claims management, frominitialreporting and follow-up throughtimelyclosure.
  • Manage SDS documentation, OSHA reporting, fleet vehicle monitoring and management, Wrench reporting, and IIPP maintenance.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to supervisors and directorsregardingsafety compliance.
  • Monitor safety policies and activities with company goals and team member safety in mind.
  • Identifytrends in injury data and recommend areas for further safety training.
  • Track safety training records and support compliance with safety program standards.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Conduct safety and health walk-through inspections of workplace facilities toidentifyand correct potential hazards and support compliance.
  • Advise managers and team members on safety concerns, corrective recommendations, and the interpretation of policies, programs, procedures, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for risk prevention and continuous safety improvement.
  • Conduct new-hire orientation safety training; prepare andmaintaintraining materials, including relevant work processes and OSHA compliance content; andmaintainthe new-hire safety training calendar.
  • Own the Safety Alert process used to inform leadership and Wrench partners of accidents and incidents.
  • Helpensureeach new hire has the safety equipment needed to perform assigned work with minimized risk of injury.
  • Manage the SDS program and support documentation, application, and complianceofthe IIPP.
  • Model professional and safeconduct, andpromptly address safety concerns with team members or their supervisors when necessary.
  • Stay current on relevant health and safety developments and communicate applicable updates to the leadership team for implementation.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • 2 - 5 years Prior Claims Management experience
  • At least (1) year of prior supervisory experience
  • Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and manage multipletasks.
  • Committed adherence and enforcement of the company’s core values and corepurpose.
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and group presentation skills
  • Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in the Englishlanguage.

Non-essential Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local regulations (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, DOT).
  • Risk assessment and project managementexperience.
  • Advanced education relevant to safety
