Job summary

Barstow and Sons is seeking an HVAC Selling Technician to diagnose, repair, and upgrade residential systems. This role combines service work with on-site sales of new units, offering substantial earnings potential and ongoing training.

You will report at least weekly to our Annapolis, MD location and enjoy a compensation package that includes a signing bonus up to $10,000 plus a $10,000 Journeyman annual bonus, plus a lucrative overall pay range.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in residential HVAC service, repair, or sales.
• Active HVAC license (apprentice or journeyman) required.
• Strong technical skills to diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC issues.
• Sales-driven mindset with ability to recommend and sell on service calls.
• EPA certification; NATE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems.
• Identify opportunities for system replacement when appropriate.
• Educate customers and provide honest, professional recommendations.
• Sell new systems on the spot when suitable.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience that builds trust.

What You’ll Do:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems efficiently and effectively
• Identify opportunities where a system replacement is in the homeowner's best interest
• Educate customers on their options, providing honest and professional recommendations

What We’re Looking For:

• HVAC experience - 4+ years in residential HVAC service, repair, or sales
• Active HVAC license (apprentice or journeyman) required
• Strong technical skills - Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC issues
• Sales-driven mindset - Confidence in recommending and selling new systems during service calls
• Excellent communication - Ability to explain technical issues in a way homeowners understand
• EPA certification (NATE certification is a plus!)
• A positive, customer-focused attitude
