Job summary

Ho-Chunk, Inc. in Columbia, SC is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings.

You will handle preventive maintenance and repairs to keep facilities functioning safely and efficiently. The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial maintenance, a GED or high school diploma, and the ability to work in outdoor or indoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Hang doors and install door locks; replace broken window panes.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Touch up painting or patching of walls.
• Maintain facility grounds with team members.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

General Summary Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, masonry work. Perform preventive maintenance requirements on equipment as it pertains to the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Wage: $22.49/hr

• Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Performs minor repairs or replacing to concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Hangs doors and installs door locks and replaces broken windowpanes.
• Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Touch up painting or patching of walls.
• Work along with team members to maintain the maintenance and upkeep of the facility grounds.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

• GED or High School Graduate
• 3 years’ experience doing general maintenance work in a commercial facility
• Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment
• Experience hanging doors, installing door locks, and replacing broken window panes preferred but not required
• Able to understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor or other craftsmen
• Attendance is required to be successful

Work Environment

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable.
• Must be able to pass a local background check and can must maintain
