Job summary

Ho-Chunk, Inc. is seeking a general maintenance worker to perform painting, carpentry, masonry, and routine preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities. The role requires practical skill for patching walls, replacing flooring, hanging doors, and replacing broken windowpanes.

You will work with a team to maintain grounds and building infrastructure, must lift up to 50 lbs, and follow instructions from leads or supervisors. This is a full-time position based in Columbia, SC.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Graduate is required.
• 3 years’ experience doing general maintenance work in a commercial facility.
• Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment.

Responsibilities

• Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Performs minor repairs or replacing to concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Hangs doors and installs door locks and replaces broken windowpanes.
• Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Touch up painting or patching of walls.
• Work along with team members to maintain the maintenance and upkeep of the facility grounds.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Wage: $22.49/hr

• Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.

Knowledge, Experience And Skill Requirements

• GED or High School Graduate
• 3 years’ experience doing general maintenance work in a commercial facility
• Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment
• Experience hanging doors, installing door locks, and replacing broken window panes preferred but not required
• Able to understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor or other craftsmen
• Attendance is required to be successful

Work Environment

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable.
• Must be able to pass a local background check and can must maintain
