Job summary

Legacy Hospice is seeking a full-time Hospice Aide (CNA) to deliver compassionate in-home care in Charlottesville. You will work with the nursing team to meet physical, emotional, and personal needs with dignity and respect.

Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, PTO, holidays, tuition assistance, and a 401(k) match. Must have CNA certification, CPR if required, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current unencumbered CNA certificate required.
• Minimum one year CNA experience in acute or long-term care; hospice experience a plus.
• CPR certification required if state-mandated.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized care following the care plan to ensure patient comfort and wellbeing.
• Assist with personal care including bathing, oral hygiene, changing bedding, clothing, and shampooing.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service and support for patients and families.
• Provide family support by sharing knowledge and guiding care for terminally ill loved ones.
• Maintain accurate documentation in patient charts, agency records, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide Personalized Care: Follow the carefully crafted plan of care to ensure the comfort and well-being of our patients. Attend promptly to the requests of patients and their family/caregiver, offering compassionate and unwavering support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Holds current unencumbered certificate in the state working as a C.N.A.
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a C.N.A. in an acute care or long term care setting. Hospice exp a plus!
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification if state‑mandated
• Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to dependable transportation.

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general posting guideline for the role and is not a fixed offer. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and the specific responsibilities of the position. The exact compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
