Job summary

St. Luke’s Hospital in Missouri seeks a dedicated phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy, process specimens, and assist with patient registration. You will use the Laboratory information system and prepare samples for reference laboratories, while maintaining department inventory and equipment.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, Phlebotomy Certification, and inpatient phlebotomy experience. Benefits include day-one coverage, a pension/401K, competitive pay, and education assistance.

Qualifications

• License: Phlebotomy Certification.
• Experience: Previous inpatient phlebotomy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and processes patient specimens.
• Performs patient registration and uses the Laboratory computer system.
• Prepares specimens for reference laboratories and maintains inventory.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and performs clerical duties.
• Adheres to patient identification, safety policies, and department procedures.
• Promotes teamwork within the healthcare team and aligns with the hospital's mission.

Position Summary:

Performs phlebotomy, processes patient specimens and performs patient registration. Utilizes Laboratory computer system. Prepares specimens to be sent to reference laboratories. Maintains department inventory and operates and maintains equipment. Performs various clerical duties. Adheres to patient identification, laboratory safety, and department policies and procedures. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

License: Phlebotomy Certification

Experience: Previous inpatient phlebotomy experience required.
