Job summary

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience connecting people to jobs or career opportunities.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting adults in achieving employment goals, ideally in social services or workforce programs.
  • Ability to build strong employer relationships and turn them into real job opportunities.
  • Excellent coaching, motivating, and communication skills with diverse clients.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized employment support including résumé writing, interview coaching, and job application assistance
  • Develop job opportunities by building relationships with employers, staffing agencies, and workforce partners
  • Match clients to appropriate job openings and support them through the hiring process
  • Connect clients to vocational training, education programs, and career advancement opportunities
  • Facilitate job readiness workshops, computer skills training, and financial literacy sessions
  • Plan and support hiring events such as job fairs and recruitment drives
  • Track and document client progress in employment and income-building activities
  • Collaborate with Case Managers, Housing staff, and other service providers to align employment goals with housing stability
  • Utilize evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care to engage clients

THE ROLE

The Employment Specialist (Job Developer) supports clients in achieving financial stability through employment and education.
