Job summary

Abilis in Greenwich, CT is seeking an experienced Job Developer to join our growing team. This role focuses on developing, coordinating, and supporting individualized employment programs, and maintaining accurate documentation while building relationships with employers and community partners.

The position also supports billing processes and collaborates with Employment Managers and the Program Director to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Science, or related field; or eight years of full-time experience in vocational programs, direct care, job development, or job maintenance.
  • Minimum two years of experience supporting individuals with special needs in habilitation, education, or vocational programs.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to engage effectively with participants.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate agency vehicles; CPR certification (or ability to obtain/maintain).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between departments, businesses, and the community, representing the agency professionally.
  • Address day-to-day concerns, provide crisis intervention, and troubleshoot issues at job sites as needed.
  • Develop, support, and provide coverage for transportation plans and worksite assignments.
  • Assist with tracking BRS hours, timesheets, and timely submission of billing paperwork.
  • Participate in developing and implementing IPPs and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Complete all required documentation, including data sheets, employment summaries, incident reports, and case records.
  • Teach job skills, professionalism, social skills, hygiene, and safety to promote employee independence.
  • Assign and monitor work tasks, conduct quality control checks, and ensure adherence to job specifications.
  • Support behavioral plan development and implementation as needed.
  • Maintain communication logs, track customer satisfaction, and share updates with Employment Managers and Program Director.
  • Provide training and guidance to on-site staff working with assigned employees.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with businesses, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Provide backup coverage for job sites, transportation routes, and other operational needs as required.

Job Summary:
