Job summary

County Materials Family of Companies is seeking a Cost Accountant in Youngwood, PA to analyze, track, and report manufacturing costs, partnering with operations, supply chain, and finance to provide cost insights and ensure GAAP compliance.

This role supports budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements to optimize profitability in a manufacturing environment. Strong Excel skills and 2–4 years of accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or higher.
• 2-4 years accounting experience, preferably in cost accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform job cost accounting for specific product lines and projects.
• Track and analyze labor, materials, and overhead costs.
• Prepare and post journals in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Substantiate financial transactions through collaboration with internal teams.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Divisional Controller.
• Partner with division leaders.

Job Summary

The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, tracking, and reporting all manufacturing costs to support operational efficiency and financial accuracy. The Cost Accountant partners closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to provide cost insights, identify variances, support budgeting and forecasting, and recommend process improvements. This position ensures that cost accounting practices align with GAAP and internal controls, helping leadership make data-driven decisions to optimize profitability within the manufacturing environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform job cost accounting as required for specific product lines and special projects
• Track and analyze job-related costs, including labor, materials, and overhead
• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company policies
• Compilemonthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Substantiate financial transactions through communication and collaboration with internal team members
• Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls and accounting procedures
• Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned by the Divisional Controller.
• Partner and collaborate with division leaders.

Experience & Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Accountingrequired,bachelor's degree in accountingpreferred.
• 2-4 years of accounting or related experience
• Prior experience with job costing or costaccounting.
• Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite products with advanced knowledge and use of Excel
• Strong mathematical, analytical, andproblem-solvingskills.
