DuraServ is seeking a Job Cost Accountant II to manage project finances from budgeting to completion. You will collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Accounting to gather information and ensure timely, accurate results. Strong judgment and multi-tasking will be essential for success.

Responsibilities include cost analysis, data maintenance, and effectively communicating findings to multiple departments. On-site Coppell, TX experience preferred with growth opportunities within the team.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting/cost accounting experience desirable.
  • Previous cost accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret accounting data to evaluate operating results and cost trends.
  • Provide cost analysis insights and recommendations to management.
  • Maintain data and set cost standards for products; record variance and cost of sales entries.
  • Process equipment sales orders and contracts ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Create and manage system order entries, purchase orders, work orders; approve invoices.
  • Oversee inventory control and stock purchasing.

Job Summary

Job Cost Accountant II will manage project finances from initial budgeting through completion. You will communicate and coordinate with Operations, Sales, and Accounting to gather and provide the necessary information for your responsibilities. Your ability to manage multiple priorities will be crucial in completing tasks accurately while meeting deadlines. Demonstrating sound judgment, based on your knowledge and experience, will be essential for successful task completion and problem-solving with minimal assistance.

Essential Job Functions
  • Analyzing and interpreting statistical and accounting information to evaluate operating results, such as profitability and trends. It also covers product cost analysis, preparing reports, and communicating findings to various departments.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to management by providing insights and recommendations based on cost analysis.
  • Maintain data and determine cost standards for all products, providing cost data for new or changed products, and recording specific entries like efficiency variance and cost of sales.
  • Execute all equipment sales orders and contracts, including reviewing order packages for accuracy and completeness.
  • Create system order entry, purchase orders, work orders, and managing the receipt of purchase orders and approval of invoices
  • Responsible for inventory control and maintenance, as well as the purchasing of stock and custom inventory.

Education and Experience

  • Combining experience in accounting, cost accounting, or finance practices of 2 or more years with education is desirable.
  • Previous experience with cost accounting preferred.
