Job summary

Goodwill of the Heartland in Davenport, IA, is seeking a part-time Job Coach to directly support participants with barriers to independence. You will train, supervise and model work procedures, helping participants develop goals and perform assigned tasks.

Travel between job sites is required and transportation may be provided by the program. The role offers a start wage of $16.78 per hour, with opportunities to train in a supportive team environment and to contribute to community employment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months of experience in a related field is required. An AA degree can be substituted for the required experience.
• Supervisory/training experience preferred.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Background checks (criminal, motor vehicle record, dependent adult/child abuse) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support for clients, including training, supervision, and modeling work procedures.
• Assist participants to be placed in community jobs through Goodwill programs and develop their goals and tasks.
• Teach basic work habits and attitudes and adapt training strategies day-to-day.
• Travel between job sites as required. Transportation to program participants may be provided.

The Job Coach position requires direct support for our clients, with the opportunity to train, supervise, and model work procedures. Participants are placed in community jobs through Goodwill programs, and this position aids in teaching basic work habits and attitudes, while helping our participants develop their goals and implement assigned tasks. Job Coaches adapt training strategies to fit the changing work environment and participant needs day-to-day. This position may provide transportation to program participants in a company or personal vehicle.

The schedule will allow flexibility for good work/life balance with a varying schedule that will include a combination of evening and weekend hours. Some daytime hours are possible, depending on availability. Travel between job sites is required.

The Job Coach position has a starting wage of$16.78 per hour.
