Job summary

Goodwill of the Heartland in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Part Time Job Coach to support clients with barriers to independence, train and model work procedures, and help participants develop goals.

The role may involve transporting participants, frequent travel between sites, and a schedule with evenings/weekends. Goodwill offers competitive PTO, a strong team culture, a store discount, and retirement contributions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months of experience in a related field is required (e.g., customer service, custodial, sales, clerical, training, etc.). An AA degree can be substituted for the required experience.
• Reliable vehicle, valid Iowa driver's license and auto insurance.
• Successful completion of background checks: criminal, motor vehicle record, and dependent adult and child abuse.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support for clients, with training, supervision, and modeling of work procedures.
• Adapt training strategies to fit changing work environment and participant needs day-to-day.
• Help participants develop their goals and implement assigned tasks; may transport participants to program sites.

The Job Coach position requires direct support for our clients, with the opportunity to train, supervise, and model work procedures. Participants are placed in community jobs through Goodwill programs, and this position aids in teaching basic work habits and attitudes, while helping our participants develop their goals and implement assigned tasks. Job Coaches adapt training strategies to fit the changing work environment and participant needs day-to-day. This position may provide transportation to program participants in a company or personal vehicle.

The schedule will allow flexibility for good work/life balance with a varying schedule that will include a combination of evening and weekend hours. Some daytime hours are possible, depending on availability. Travel between job sites is required.

The Job Coach position has a starting wage of $16.78 per hour.
