Position: Job Coach

Department: Mission Services

Reports to: Employment Services Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

Provides pre-employment, job development, on-the-job training and follow-up services to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Increases individualized job placement and retention services for job ready participants by developing employer partnerships, job openings, and work exploration opportunities with area businesses.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in the development and implementation of task analysis and training plan based on individual's needs as it relates to the job.
  • Supervises the individual according to the training plan and consistent with practices used by the employer. Provides on-the-job evaluation and follow-up services as required for the individual to retain employment.
  • Arranges, manages, and monitors ancillary services necessary to facilitate a successful employment outcome as coordinated with the Employment Specialist. As necessary, educates co-workers regarding the individual's disability and other barriers to employment.
  • Ensures the employee meets the qualitative and quantitative performance criteria on the job. Assists the employee in completing the job tasks as needed. During fading, assists the employer on other job tasks as permitted or performs recording responsibilities.
  • Researches business community's employment needs, serves as a liaison with business and industry personnel, and develops potential job opportunities.
  • Provides job readiness, follow along, and support services for participants.
  • Maintains files on all participants using accepted standards for documentation. Completes all reporting and billing responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Attends all necessary external and internal meetings as required and necessary. Attends and participates in training programs as required.
  • Promotes an environment of workplace safety by training and informing others regarding safety standards/precautions. Monitors safety and takes corrective action. Ensures that regulatory safety requirements are adhered to.
  • Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Employment Services Manager.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and two (2) years of relevant experience working with people with disabilities or other barriers to employment.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain ACRE Certification.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and satisfactorily complete a motor vehicle check on an annual basis.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must present self in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to work maturely with confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work beyond normal schedule as needed.
  • Must complete and successfully pass Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance, and Low Risk Federal Background Check.
