Position Summary

The person in this position will be responsible for the delivery of vocational and educational guidance to clients participating in the program while performing job functions. Essential Job Functions include:

• Work directly with counselors and clients in developing vocational soft and technical skills;
• Provide educational and vocational guidance, including training on safe material handling and equipment operation;
• Conduct in-service training and workshops on equipment maintenance, soft skills, and communication;
• Create a work-like environment to teach punctuality, reliability, and task completion;
• Develop facility chores, special skill assignments, and job descriptions;
• Coordinate with staff on assigning chores, developing work crews, and conducting evaluations;
• Plan and arrange training courses as needed;
• Counsel and assist applicants with work ethics and adjustments;
• Obtain job orders, coordinate interviews, and provide feedback to departments;
• Embrace and embody WestCare Foundation's mission and principles;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; a degree in related fields is preferred;
• One year experience in vocational counseling or employment services preferred;
• Strong communication, organizational, and motivational skills;
• Knowledge of offender populations and related concepts preferred;
• Proficiency in MS Office;
• Ability to exercise good judgment, work in a team, and maintain confidentiality;
• Culturally/linguistically sensitive;
• Ability to obtain necessary clearances and licenses, including CPR and First Aid certifications.

Working Conditions & Demands

Work is primarily community-based, with some outdoor activities. Must be able to perform physical activities, communicate effectively, and analyze complex data. The role involves working under stress and in emotionally charged settings.
