Job summary

League School for Autism is seeking a dedicated Job Coach to support residential students with community work internships in Walpole, MA. The role is 40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with pay from $22.50 to $26.40 per hour.

The coach will implement IEP-based lessons, supervise transportation, and collaborate with internship supervisors and school staff to ensure successful vocational experiences.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or specialized training in a related field or experience working with autistic individuals strongly preferred.
  • CPR, Safety Care and First Aid certifications (League School will provide training).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass rigorous background checks, including nationwide fingerprint screening.

Responsibilities

  • Implements lessons and tasks according to individualized education programs (IEP) within the classroom/school and community settings.
  • Drives League School vehicles to community job sites.
  • Supervises students at community-based job sites and provides job-coaching services for students according to individual program needs.
  • Acts as liaison for communication between community-based employers and League School for Autism’s Coordinator of Vocational and Career Services.
  • Collects and records data regarding student performance related to their IEP.
  • Develops a therapeutic and effective relationship with students: uses appropriate voice modulation, sets reasonable boundaries with communication and actions, etc.
  • Identifies transactional supports needed at job sites and implements student support plans as developed by the multidisciplinary team.
  • Completes daily paperwork, as needed, to include: Incident Reports, Narrative Notes, Accident Reports, etc.
  • Monitors health and safety of students and follows through with the School Nurse on incidents requiring medical attention.
  • Proactive team player who consistently attends meetings prepared with structured agendas and actionable solutions.
  • Participates in all training, as required by League School for Autism.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned by the Coordinator of Vocational and Career Services or Director of Career Education which are deemed necessary for the operation of the school.

Job description

League School for Autism is an award-winning, year-round program dedicated to the education of children on the autism spectrum. Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are currently seeking a JOB COACH to work 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 9:00am—5:00pm at our program in Walpole. Pay range starts at $22.50 - $26.40/hour.

This position is designed to support residential students participating in after-school community work internships. As a newly developed role, the successful candidate will play an active part in shaping and refining the position while helping to establish best practices for supporting students in community-based employment. The Job Coach must be comfortable working independently with limited on-site supervision, demonstrate strong judgment and problem-solving skills, and communicate effectively with internship supervisors, residential staff, families, and school staff to ensure a coordinated and successful vocational experience for each student.
