About Judson Center -Since 1924, Judson Center has been a leader in human services. We have locations in five counties, Wayne, Washtenaw, Oakland, Macomb and Genesee, providing compassionate and comprehensive services to thousands of children, adults, and families annually.
The Vocational Services Program, located in Wayne and Oakland Counties, provides job training and placement for adults with developmental disabilities and physical impairments. The goal of the program is to introduce these adults into the competitive job market.
TheJob Coachassists the consumer at their place of employment. To provide support for people with disabilities in community employment and community empowerment through job coaching and ongoing skills development, and assumes the responsibility for implementing appropriate plans. The Job Coach will train people placed into supported employment positions and assist employers in modification of job descriptions, restructuring of job duties or work environment changes which better accommodate the job performance needs of each individual.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, walk, stand, sit, communicate verbally and in writing, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. Close vision requirements due to computer work. Regular, predictable attendance is required. The employee has the potential to encounter unpredictable and aggressive consumers. The position has mostly an inside work environment and occasional outside work with exposure to weather conditions.
