Job summary

Goodwill of the Heartland seeks a Job Coach to support participants with barriers to independence in community jobs. You will train, supervise, and model work procedures while helping participants develop goals and execute tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, six months in a related field, and a valid Driver's license with insurance. Travel between sites is expected, with evenings/weekends possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months of related field experience required; AA degree can substitute.
• Supervisory/training experience preferred.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Background checks: criminal, motor vehicle record, and abuse checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support for program participants in community jobs.
• Train, supervise, and model work procedures.
• Adapt training strategies to meet participant needs daily.
• Assist participants in developing goals and implementing tasks.
• Travel between job sites as needed.

Participants are placed in community jobs through Goodwill programs, and this position aids in teaching basic work habits and attitudes, while helping our participants develop their goals and implement assigned tasks. Job Coaches adapt training strategies to fit the changing work environment and participant needs day-to-day.
