Position Overview: Job Captain/Senior Job Captain

As aJob Captain/Senior Job Captainat AO, you’ll play a key role in the execution of architectural projects from concept through construction. You’ll collaborate with project managers, designers, and consultants to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, code-compliant construction documents. You’ll also help guide junior staff, coordinate production efforts, and support construction administration activities.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate the work of consultants and internal staff to ensure seamless project execution.

Design & Documentation

  • Translate design concepts into detailed construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and specifications.
  • Assist in developing and refining design concepts as needed.

Code Compliance

  • Ensure all drawings and documents comply with applicable building codes and regulations.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular reviews of project documents for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
  • Implement best practices in drafting and documentation.

Construction Administration

  • Support construction phase services, including site visits, submittal reviews, and responses to RFIs.

Technology & Tools

  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard software to produce and manage project documentation.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of architectural experience, including project coordination and documentation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software.
  • Solid understanding of architectural principles, building codes, and construction methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design work.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Retail Rollout Experience. Grocery Rollout Experience is a PLUS.
