About The Opportunity
We are seeking a Job Captain with a minimum of seven years experience at architecture or commercial interior design firms. At Blitz, Job Captains are designers with stellar technical skills and dogged persistence. They play a critical role in providing technical translation of the project design and are responsible for delivering effective and rigorous documentation (under direct supervision of the Lead Designer). Job Captains develop and coordinate architectural drawings with particular focus on constructability, code compliance, coordination with external partners, and implementation of the Blitz delivery standards.
Our studio is highly collaborative and every team member contributes to project design, project delivery, as well as client care. The ideal candidate is a talented technical designer, highly organized, and has an extensive background in interiors and / or workplace design.
Experience
- 7+ years professional experience.
- Accredited degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Graphic Design.
- LEED and/or WELL Accreditation a plus.
- Professional Certification a plus.
- REVIT proficiency is required.
- Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Excellent 3D rendering skills; Enscape skills a huge plus.
- Experience in commercial interiors.
- Experience with core/ shell, hospitality, and retail a strong plus.
Design / Technical Design
- Excellent technical and design skills.
- Working knowledge of the California Building Code and/ or Local Building Codes.
- Experience with materials research and selection.
- Experience in construction documentation and detailing.
- Ability to review construction for general conformance with the design concept.
- Experience coordinating with public agencies and jurisdictions related to planning and building approvals.

Basic Requirements
- Candidates must currently reside in and have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
- Candidates must be able to travel to other studios as required.
