Job summary

Building Talent | AEC Talent Agency on behalf of a Chicago architecture firm seeks a Job Captain with 8+ years of professional experience. The role will coordinate the technical development of projects, guide production teams, and help deliver complete construction documents.

Candidates should be able to work independently, resolve complex technical issues, coordinate consultants, and provide clear direction to other team members.

Qualifications

• At least eight years of professional architectural experience.
• 3–5 years of experience working on projects from schematic design through construction administration.
• Strong proficiency in Revit.
• Experience with construction documents, building codes, and construction methods.
• Experience with consultant coordination, construction administration, and QA/QC.
• Experience providing technical guidance to less experienced team members.
• A professional degree in architecture, preferred.
• Architectural licensure, preferred but not required.

Building Talent is working with an established architecture firm with a Chicago office seeking a Job Captain with at least eight years of professional experience.

This position will coordinate the technical development of projects, guide production teams, and help deliver complete, accurate construction documents. We’re looking for someone who can work independently, resolve complex technical issues, coordinate consultants, and provide clear direction to other team members.

The firm has a strong focus on multifamily housing, so experience with multifamily residential projects is preferred.

Candidates should have:

• At least eight years of professional architectural experience
• Three to five years of experience working on projects from schematic design through construction administration
• Strong proficiency in Revit
• Experience with construction documents, building codes, and construction methods
• Experience with consultant coordination, construction administration, and QA/QC
• Experience providing technical guidance to less experienced team members
• A professional degree in architecture, preferred
• Architectural licensure, preferred but not required

This is a hybrid position based in Chicago. Candidates must currently reside in the Chicago area and be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment sponsorship.
