This is a hands-on technical leadership role, working closely with the Project Manager to coordinate consultants and guide the production team to deliver accurate construction documents.

Building Talent is working with an established architecture firm seeking an experienced Job Captain for its Chicago office.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role working closely with the Project Manager. You’ll coordinate consultants, guide the production team, resolve technical issues, and help deliver complete, accurate construction documents.

Recent professional experience on multifamily residential projects is required. Academic projects or internships alone do not meet this requirement.

Candidates should have:

• At least eight years of professional architectural experience
• Recent professional experience on multifamily residential projects
• At least 3-5 years of experience working on projects from schematic design through construction administration
• Experience with construction documents, building codes, construction methods, consultant coordination, and QA/QC
• Experience providing technical guidance to other team members
• A professional degree in architecture, preferred
• Architectural licensure, preferred but not required

This is a hybrid position based in Chicago. Candidates must be able to work from the Chicago office on required in-office days and be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment sponsorship. Relocation assistance is not available.
