Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Jira Administrator & Application Support Specialist for a leading insurance and financial services organization in Philadelphia. You will administer Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Jira Assets, while delivering enterprise application support across Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, Finance, and Call Center operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Jira administration and application support experience.
• Hands-on Jira Software and Jira Service Management administration.
• Experience configuring workflows, screens, permissions, and reports.
• Experience administering Jira Assets and CMDB governance.
• Knowledge of ITSM processes (Incident, Change, SLA).
• Experience with automation and REST APIs.
• Scripting with PowerShell or Python.
• Familiarity with AWS-hosted apps and Intune administration.
• Experience with SQL databases.
• Excellent documentation and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage Jira administration, workflows, automation, and platform governance.

Job description

A leading insurance and financial services organization is seeking a Jira Administrator & Application Support Specialist to support and optimize its enterprise application ecosystem. This role combines hands‑on administration of the Atlassian platform with advanced application support responsibilities across critical business functions including Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, Finance, and Call Center Operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Jira Assets (CMDB), AWS, Microsoft Intune, automation, and enterprise application support within a structured ITSM environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Jira administration, application support, systems administration, infrastructure support, or related IT disciplines
• Hands-on administration of Jira Software and Jira Service Management
• Experience configuring workflows, screens, permissions, issue types, SLAs, queues, service portals, dashboards, and reporting
• Experience administering Jira Assets and supporting CMDB design, implementation, and governance
• Knowledge of configuration management practices, asset relationships, and data quality management
• Experience supporting enterprise applications in a formal ITSM environment
• Strong understanding of Incident, Problem, Request, Change, and Service Level Management processes
• Experience building Jira Automation rules and workflow-driven business processes
• Proficiency with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, and application integrations
• Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Python
• Working knowledge of AWS-hosted application environments and AWS WorkSpaces
• Experience with Microsoft Intune administration including application deployment, compliance policies, and device management
• Knowledge of Windows 11 enterprise environments
• Experience supporting SQL and relational database environments
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution capabilities
• Experience working with monitoring, logging, and application performance tools
• Excellent documentation, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills

Desired Skills & Experience

• Atlassian Certified Professional certification or strong Atlassian Cloud administration experience
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate, or equivalent practical experience
• Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, or related certifications
• ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 Foundation certification
• Experience with Power Automate and Power BI
• Experience administering or integrating Okta, Entra ID, or other identity management platforms
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar enterprise service management platforms
• Experience supporting Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Teams, Teams Phone, SharePoint, Salesforce, Oracle, Genesys, or RightFax
• Familiarity with BigFix and enterprise endpoint management solutions
• Experience supporting AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Kiro
• Experience within regulated environments such as insurance, financial services, healthcare, or similar industries
• Knowledge of RBAC, SSO, access governance, and audit readiness requirements
