The ideal candidate will handle JIB processing, journal entries, overhead allocations, month-end close, and ad hoc reporting in a collaborative oil & gas setting.

Qualifications

• Strong JIB accounting experience and ability to manage monthly billing cycles.
• Proficient in journal entries, accruals, and overhead allocations.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Ability to work independently with minimal ramp-up time.
• Experience with JIB and oil & gas environment preferred.

• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Calculate and record overhead allocations.
• Manage accruals and month-end accounting activities.

Vaco is partnering with a growing oil and gas company seeking a JIB Accountant to provide immediate support during a transition period. This role is expected to begin as a contract engagement with strong potential to convert to a full-time position for the right individual. Key Responsibilities

• Perform monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB) processes and partner billings
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Calculate and record overhead allocations
• Manage accruals and month-end accounting activities
• Reconcile accounts and investigate variances
• Support accounting operations related to working and non-operating interests
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects
• Collaborate with accounting leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

Qualifications

• Strong Joint Interest Billing (JIB) accounting experience required
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, accruals, overhead calculations, and monthly billing cycles
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
• OGSYS experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to work independently and quickly become productive with minimal ramp-up time
