Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder Libraries invite applications for the Innovations in Jewish Life Archivist, a two-year, limited-term teaching faculty position managing IJL archival collections.

The role involves collection development, instruction, grant-related activities, outreach, and reference services, with hybrid work options and mentorship from leadership in the Distinctive Collections & Institutional Memory Unit.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, Archival Studies, or Public History with a focus or concentration in archives management.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with archival collections.
• Experience using ArchivesSpace to create finding aids.
• Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with others while supporting an inclusive environment.
• Experience delivering reference services for archival collections.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with JWST and Senior Collections Archivist to appraise, acquire, and accession IJL collections.
• Offer primary source instruction for classes using IJL materials.
• Support grant-funded activities related to IJL collections.
• Engage with students, faculty, staff, and community through outreach and fellowship programs.
• Provide reference and student support for IJL collections, including research consultations and LibGuides.
• Process, re-house, arrange, and describe new IJL acquisitions and legacy materials.
