Job summary

Saban Onyx, a distinguished New York jewelry house, seeks a detail-obsessed Jewelry Quality Control Specialist to ensure every piece leaving the bench meets the highest standards. This role places you at the heart of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction in midtown Manhattan.

You will inspect finished and in-process jewelry, document defects, and partner with production and design teams to prevent issues.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting jewelry for defects and conformance.
• Knowledge of metalworking, setting, and finishes.
• Strong attention to detail and visual acuity.
• Familiarity with QC documentation and reporting processes.
• GIA or gemological training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished and in-process jewelry for defects.
• Evaluate metal quality, prong integrity, clasp function, and polish.
• Document and report quality issues and non-conformances.
• Collaborate with production and design to resolve issues.
• Ensure products meet internal standards before shipment.
• Maintain QC logs and inspection records.
• Identify opportunities to reduce defect rates.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect finished and in-process jewelry pieces for defects in craftsmanship, finish, and gemstone setting
• Evaluate metal quality, prong integrity, clasp functionality, and surface polish
• Document and report quality issues, defects, and non-conformances accurately
• Collaborate with production and design teams to resolve quality concerns
• Ensure all products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications before shipment
• Maintain detailed QC logs and inspection records
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to reduce defect rates

Requirements:

• Prior experience in jewelry quality control, inspection, or production
• Strong knowledge of fine jewelry construction, gemstone setting, and metalworking
• Exceptional attention to detail and visual acuity
• Familiarity with QC documentation and reporting processes
• Ability to use loupes, microscopes, or other inspection tools
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• GIA certification or equivalent gemological training is a plus
