Job summary

Allen Control Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer focused on Jetson hardware platforms and driver development. You will contribute to low‑level software supporting autonomous systems, including kernel drivers, embedded Linux customization, and hardware integration for high‑performance computer vision tasks.

The role emphasizes hands‑on coding, debugging, and collaboration with hardware and CV teams to ensure reliable real‑time performance across Jetson platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of embedded Linux software development and driver programming.
• Experience building/configuring Linux kernels for embedded platforms.
• Proficient in C/C++ with scripting in Python or Bash.
• Familiar with PCIe, FPGA-based systems and Jetson platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers for Jetson-based platforms including Ethernet NICs, USB devices, and MIPI cameras.
• Write and optimize drivers for PCIe devices, FPGAs, and high-performance peripherals.
• Configure and optimize embedded Linux distributions for NVIDIA Jetson to meet performance and reliability needs.
• Collaborate with hardware and computer vision teams to integrate sensors and custom hardware with embedded software.
• Debug low-level system issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and implement real-time fixes.
• Produce documentation of driver implementations, interfaces, and configuration processes.
