Portland Utilities Construction Co., LLC is seeking a Jet Vac Operator in the Knoxville, TN area. You will play a vital role in sewer rehabilitation projects, focusing on safety, precision, and teamwork.

A CDL is required, with travel opportunities for 2–3 weeks at a time, and a sign-on bonus is available. The starting pay ranges from $27.00 to $30.00 per hour, with 100% paid on-the-job training and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Safety-focused operator with a track record of working in utility or construction environments.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with crew and maintain safety standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to changing project needs.

Responsibilities

• Safely excavate pipe routes and work around existing utilities to ensure precise installation.
• Communicate with the crew to troubleshoot challenges and maintain safety standards.
• Load and unload excavation materials, including pipe systems and man-holes, using certified equipment.
• Grade and level trench bases using backfill or stone.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety rules and company policies.
• Assist pipelayers with pipe placement using hand signals and coordinate the setup of trench safety systems.
