Job summary

GE Aerospace’s Strother Field site in Arkansas City, KS is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to troubleshoot engine and hardware issues, perform engineering analysis, and support work scope development for CFM56, CF34-8, CF34-10, and PP20 engines. This hands-on role partners with Operations, Quality, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve shop efficiency.

You will own root-cause investigations, document technical guidance for production, and ensure safe, compliant, on-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with ≥3 years in production, overhaul, maintenance, or similar
• Alternative: High School Diploma/GED with ≥7 years in production/overhaul/maintenance environment
• Experience with jet engine workscoping and hardware disposition is preferred
• Experience interpreting inspection findings and test data
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Familiarity with CFM56, CF34-8, CF34-10, PP20 or similar engines
• Lean / Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving training
• Experience collaborating in a matrixed cross-functional environment
• SAP experience
• Proficiency with MS Office and basic engineering analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot engine and hardware issues using engineering analysis and data review
• Analyze inspection findings and test data to determine dispositions
• Develop incoming engine work scopes balancing technical, cost and schedule
• Partner with Quality, Operations, and Engineering to resolve issues
• Support continuous improvement to engine performance and shop efficiency
• Provide technical guidance and documentation to production teams and customers
• Complete perfection reviews and certify engine serviceability
• Contribute to a safe, compliant operating environment across shop activities
