Job summary

RTX in North Berwick, ME seeks an overnight shift supervisor to lead a multi-skilled team manufacturing and repairing jet engine components. You will apply Lean and CORE methodologies to improve quality, throughput and delivery integrity.

Ideal candidates bring a degree with 2+ years in engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related fields, or 6+ years of experience without a degree, plus strong MS Office skills and a practical knowledge of shop practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in engineering/manufacturing/quality, or Associate’s with 4+ years.
• In lieu of degree, 6+ years of related experience.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Working knowledge of shop practices, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Apply CORE, Lean to develop and implement process improvements to increase quality and throughput.
• Provide leadership to a multi-skilled team responsible for manufacture and repair of jet engine components.
• Ensure employees are trained and work safely.
• Bridge business objectives across three operating shifts; be available across all shifts.
• Support legal obligations such as US Government contracting and FAA policies.
• Make minor changes in systems to solve problems and improve work area effectiveness.
• Set day-to-day operational objectives for the team.
• Implement basic management practices like scheduling, prioritizing, and coaching.
