Jeff Temps, Jefferson's in-house temporary service, is seeking experienced Audiologists to join our pool supporting the Department of Otolaryngology at various locations between PA and NJ, primarily conducting hearing tests. We invite you to be part of a dedicated team committed to providing superior care.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm/5pm

Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The scope of practice for an audiologist is defined by their training and licensure. It includes assessment and habilitation/rehabilitation of individuals with auditory and vestibular disorders, prevention of hearing loss, and research in auditory and vestibular functions.

CORE FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Identify, evaluate, and habilitate/rehabilitate individuals with peripheral or central auditory impairments, and work to prevent such impairments.
  • Assess and treat vestibular disorders.
  • Provide information on hearing, hearing loss, and disability, and develop hearing conservation programs in industry.
  • Develop and oversee hearing screening programs for all ages.
  • Perform speech and language screenings and other communication disorder assessments.
  • Administer and interpret behavioral and electrophysiologic measures of auditory systems.
  • Assess and interpret tests of the vestibular system.
  • Evaluate and fit amplification devices, including hearing aids and assistive listening devices, providing counseling and training.
  • Take ear canal impressions, fit, dispense, and support hearing aids.
  • Manage tinnitus using various techniques including biofeedback and counseling.
  • Recommend and implement vestibular rehabilitation goals.
  • Provide habilitation services for infants and children with hearing impairment.
  • Participate in cochlear implant assessments, counseling, and maintenance.
  • Administer identification, evaluation, and rehabilitation programs for children with hearing impairment.
  • Design and implement industrial and community hearing conservation programs.
  • Perform electrophysiologic measurements of neural function, including intraoperative monitoring.
  • Design, analyze, and interpret research related to auditory and vestibular systems.
  • Perform basic audiometric testing efficiently.
  • Complete documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Support team and organizational goals, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and effective communication.
  • Operate within policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Handle multiple tasks efficiently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct, fostering positive patient and team interactions.
