Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a Director-level candidate to lead the J.D. Admissions team, coordinating recruitment, admission, and yield efforts. You will supervise staff, review files, and oversee scholarship selections while driving improvements in marketing and outreach.

The role focuses on inclusive excellence, data-driven strategies, and collaboration with the Office of Admissions and Student Financial Services to support a diverse JD class. Evening/weekend events and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Effective writing and editing skills with policy/procedures development.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software.
• Ability to analyze complex data and communicate results clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of independent work and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee JD Admissions file review, yield management, and scholarship practices to ensure personalized, responsive applicant interactions.
• Represent UC Irvine at recruitment events and manage day-to-day J.D. admissions operations.
• Evaluate marketing and communications plans; implement improvements to recruitment efforts annually.
• Supervise staff, set priorities, and coordinate multiple stakeholders to achieve department goals.
• Demonstrate initiative, discretion, and strong judgment in confidential student recruitment activities.
