Job summary

Pilgrim in Michigan is seeking a dependable sanitation associate to clean and sanitize production areas in a fast-paced plant. The role requires performing cleaning tasks at high speed, lifting over 50 pounds, and completing mandatory safety and GMP training.

You will work with chemicals under proper supervision and adhere to housekeeping standards in production and maintenance settings, with exposure to noise and wet floors. Good attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend and crawl for extended periods.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures with exposure to moving machinery, hot water and slippery floors.
• Must be able to work with multiple chemicals with proper training and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform various cleaning and sanitation tasks with little supervision including scrubbing walls, floors, tables and hallways.
• Clean and sanitize production areas and maintain hygiene standards.
• Complete mandatory safety and GMP training as outlined.

Experience/Skills/Abilities:

• Previous experience in a meat processing plant or similar manufacturing setting preferred.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend and/ or crawl for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures with frequent exposure to moving machinery, hot water and slippery floors.
• Must be able to climb stairs/ladders if needed.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, with repetitive motion work in hand scrubbing and running a hose.
• Must be able to work with multiple chemicals with proper training and personal protective equipment.
