Job summary

Responsibilities

• Promote a vision that supports the goals of the department, College and the University.
• Develop procedures for recruitment, retention, graduation and placement of students.
• Promote effective innovative teaching and learning.
• Conduct an annual assessment of the program learning outcomes of all degree programs.
• Conduct scheduled academic program reviews.
• Develop and implement new degree programs as appropriate.
• Promote the selection, retention, and professional growth of a diverse faculty.
• Adhere to governance procedures regarding appointments, evaluations, workloads.
• Manage departmental budgets and pursue external funding.
• Maintain accurate student and departmental data and records.
• Coordinate and evaluate academic advising.
• Develop partnerships with stakeholders to support opportunities for faculty and students.
• Conduct performance reviews of faculty and staff.
• Assist the Dean with employee relation issues.
• Recruit, supervise, and evaluate adjunct faculty.
• Ensure curricula meet accreditation standards.
• Ensure accreditation through NASM and related articulation requirements.
