Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited is seeking a seasoned Java Technical Architect in Milford, Ohio, to lead modern architecture for UI modernization in a cloud-enabled environment. The role demands deep expertise in Java, Angular, microservices, and design patterns, with strong leadership and cross‑team collaboration.

The candidate will shape scalable Java-based solutions, evaluate infrastructure needs, and oversee performance testing and reporting tool development.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive work experience as a Java technical architect.
• Experience in Unemployment Insurance modernization transformation program (UI domain – Benefits, Tax and Appeals) preferred.
• Ability to work with Partners and technology providers to conceptualize solution and present to customer.
• Advanced knowledge of Microservice and software architecture.
• Proficiency with Java, JSF, Angular and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in frameworks/lac to include Hibernate, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, PrimeFaces.
• Experience with software design and web programming.
• Ability to solve complex software system issues.
• Cloud environment experience (AWS, Google).
• Solid understanding and working experience of Design Patterns.
• Hands-on experience in developing reporting tools.
• Technical team management skills.
• Strong communication, leadership and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with technology managers and the design team to discuss goals and needs of the project.
• Examining and defining current architecture systems.
• Designing scalable architecture systems for Java-based applications.
• Identifying hardware and software infrastructure needs to support architectural goals.
• Troubleshooting design flaws and system bottlenecks.
• Performing validation tests to ensure flexibility and scalability of the Java environment.
• Assisting the software design team with application integration.
• Conducting system performance tests.
• Completing systems reports.
• Work with Business, Build, Testing, and Customer SMEs.
• Implementing solutions with performance and supportability in mind to achieve business results.
• Introducing analytics, chat-bots and automation initiatives.
