Job summary

Infosys is seeking a Software Engineer for the Communications, Media, and Technology unit in the United States. You will design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices, participate in SDLC, and contribute to cloud transformation initiatives.

You will work with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, AWS, and modern frontend tech like React/TypeScript to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade applications. The role requires strong collaboration and hands-on coding in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based microservices using Spring Boot and RESTful APIs to support enterprise-grade applications.
• Experience in Core Java and J2EE technologies.
• Participate in microservices migration initiatives, performance optimization, and cloud transformation programs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the requirements elicitation process by documenting assigned parts of business requirements, in line with guidance provided
• Facilitate software application design discussions, and document design decisions to guide the technical team towards building software solutions
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications, with a focus on maintaining system stability
• Conduct code reviews, do changes to the codebase and maintain code repositories
• Implement test strategies, analyse results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold the software quality standards
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to ensure a smooth transition to new software applications
• Actively participate in resolving production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance system reliability
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to enrich the knowledge base and assist other similar projects

Required Skill And Experience

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java‑based microservices using Spring Boot and RESTful APIs to support enterprise‑grade applications.
• Experience in Core Java and J2EE technologies.
• Participate in microservices migration initiatives, performance optimization, and cloud transformation programs.

Preferred Skill And Experience

• Experience in Oracle Database.
• Experience in AWS cloud platform (EKS, Docker, SQS, EC2)
• Build modern, responsive front‑end applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript, ensuring high performance and user experience.
• Support and enhance applications deployed on cloud platforms (AWS), including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Leverage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git‑based workflows) to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Analytical, oral, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
• Self‑learner with effective time management skills.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• This position may require relocation and/or travel to work/project location.
