Job summary

Genworth is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services in a hybrid Lynchburg/Richmond or remote Eastern/Central time zones setup.

You will collaborate with business and technology teams, implement RESTful APIs and microservices, and help modernize software with CI/CD practices while embracing AI-assisted tooling to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in application development or software engineering.
• 3+ years of experience developing applications using Java.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
• Support production apps by investigating incidents and resolving defects.
• Develop and support RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices to enable secure, high-quality software.
