Job summary

InPost is seeking an experienced backend engineer to shape the Consumer & Merchant domain, delivering scalable microservices with Hexagonal Architecture. You’ll work in a distributed, autonomous team, handling core parcel creation features and high-impact initiatives across our platform.

Remote role with a Warsaw-based final interview; expect a fast-paced, AI-enabled development workflow and strong emphasis on security, testing, and end-to-end ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot including MVC and/or WebFlux.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
• Good understanding of Hexagonal / Clean Architecture and microservices patterns.
• Experience with automated testing (Spock/JUnit), Testcontainers, and contract testing.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and GitLab CI.
• Solid understanding of OAuth2/JWT-based security.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools (Claude Code and similar).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement microservices following Hexagonal Architecture.
• Influence architectural decisions and solution design.
• Build event-driven integrations using Kafka, Avro, and Transactional Outbox.
• Write comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, contract).
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality.
• Own assigned topics, identify stakeholders, and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools as part of daily workflow.
