Job summary

WEX is seeking a Software Engineer for the Corporate Payments Engineering organization. You will contribute to the Bill Pay platform, develop scalable Java/Spring Boot apps on AWS, and build event-driven services with Apache Kafka.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience deploying applications on AWS Cloud.
• Experience building event-driven apps using Apache Kafka.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle DB, incl. SQL optimization and Oracle stored procedures.
• Proficient in automated testing (unit, component, integration) and test pyramid.
• Understanding of cloud security/compliance in data environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and execute the long-term vision for Corporate Payments services.
• Define and implement the architectural roadmap for the Bill Pay platform.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/Spring Boot apps on AWS.
• Build and enhance event-driven services using Apache Kafka.
• Develop and maintain database solutions with PostgreSQL and Oracle, incl. SQL optimization.
