Job summary

OKX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Payments Team in the United States. You will design and operate scalable, 24/7 payment APIs across cloud providers, using Java and Spring Boot as the core stack.

You will own features end-to-end, from design through production, expanding channels and ensuring robust financial workflows. You’ll partner with product, design, and regional teams to ship reliable payment solutions, improve observability, and drive engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and design patterns.
• Ownership mindset and accountability for outcomes.
• Ability to drive cross-team collaboration with complex dependencies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain trade-offs to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Genuine interest in crypto or fintech and building money movement solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-scale, 24/7 APIs and distributed payment services across multiple cloud providers using Java and Spring Boot.
• Expand global reach by integrating and scaling new payment channels and methods.
• Ensure correctness, idempotency, reconciliation, and recoverability.
• Set technical standards via design reviews and mentoring.
• Investigate and resolve complex distributed-systems challenges.
• Collaborate with product, design, and partner teams to ship reliable systems.
