Job summary

Altimetrik in the United States is seeking a senior Java engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in J2EE and enterprise-grade applications. You will design and implement microservices, REST APIs, and scalable backend services, leveraging cloud platforms and modern design principles.

You'll lead code reviews, drive test strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions using NiFi, Kafka, Zookeeper, Redis, Cassandra and Splunk.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Java Expertise: Has at least 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience, specifically in J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition). This extensive experience implies that the candidate is proficient in enterprise-grade Java applications, design patterns, and performance optimization.
• Microservices and REST API Proficiency: Skilled in developing web services, particularly microservices architectures, and REST APIs. This indicates a strong understanding of how to build, scale, and maintain distributed systems effectively.
• Database and SQL Skills: Proficient in Oracle Database, with expertise in writing complex SQL queries. This level of database knowledge is crucial for data-heavy applications and backend services.
• Cloud-Native and Platform Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure, as well as experience with deploying cloud-native applications. Knowledge of tools like PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) demonstrates the candidate’s ability to work within cloud environments effectively.
• Modern Software Design Principles: Deep understanding of design principles like SOLID, DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself), and Single Responsibility. This skill shows the candidate’s commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Broad Technology Stack Experience: Familiar with a range of modern tools and technologies, including NiFi (data flow management), NATS (messaging system), Kafka (event streaming), Zookeeper (coordination service), Splunk (monitoring), Redis (in-memory data structure store), Cassandra (NoSQL database), and Oracle. The ability to simplify and create common libraries/interfaces for these tools is a plus.
• Leadership and Collaboration Skills: Experience driving end-to-end development, conducting code reviews, developing test strategies, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and resolving operational issues.
