Senior Software Developer – Java, Microservices & Angular

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with strong expertise in Java, Microservices, and Angular to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems.

This role is suited for a mid-to-senior level engineer who is comfortable working across the full software development lifecycle, solving complex technical problems, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and contributing to modern cloud‑native application architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices following modern architectural and design principles.
Build responsive, maintainable, and reusable front-end applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Design and implement distributed systems using appropriate microservices patterns, including service discovery, API gateways, centralized configuration, fault tolerance, and asynchronous communication.
Write clean, maintainable, testable, and production‑ready code.
Develop unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
Troubleshoot complex production and performance issues across application and service layers.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback on design, implementation, and coding standards.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other developers to deliver high‑quality software.
Contribute to technical design discussions and help identify opportunities for improving system scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
Work with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices to support automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to estimation, planning, and delivery.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices at the senior level.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience for Senior-level candidates; candidates with approximately 3–5 years may be considered for a mid‑level position.
Strong hands‑on programming experience with Java 8+, preferably Java 11/17/21.
Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring ecosystem.
Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and service‑to‑service communication.
Professional experience with Angular and TypeScript.
Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean-code practices.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
Working knowledge of SQL and database design concepts.
Experience writing unit and integration tests using technologies such as JUnit, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
Experience with Git and modern source‑control practices.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to solve algorithmic and data‑structure problems similar to those assessed through Codility‑style technical assessments.
Good understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging/event‑streaming technologies.
Experience with API Gateway technologies and service discovery.
Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and application security.
Experience with Redis or other distributed caching technologies.
Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or distributed tracing.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
