Qualifications

• Experience profiling and tuning Java applications for performance
• Ability to define SLOs, budgets, and latency/throughput targets
• Experience with distributed tracing tools across cloud services
• Strong diagnostic skills for production incidents and baselines

Responsibilities

• Define SLOs, performance budgets, and latency/throughput targets across services.
• Architect and champion distributed tracing strategies (Dynatrace, AWS X-Ray, etc.).
• Analyze app, platform, and cloud behavior using heap/thread dumps, flame graphs, GC logs, network traces.
• Review architectures for performance risks such as poor cache placement and excessive dependencies.
• Lead root-cause analysis for performance incidents in prod and pre-prod.
• Develop capacity models and performance baselines for services across clouds.
