Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking engineers to transform legacy systems and deliver best-in-class software experiences for corporate credit card banking systems. You will work in a team, take ownership of full-stack development, and ensure production-ready code in alignment with bank standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Three to five years of relevant experience.
• Expert level of Java 8 and 21.
• Strong experience in Spring Boot and other Java frameworks/libraries and Cloud API development.
• Experience with JSP, React & NodeJS.
• Deep understanding of microservices, APIs, Junits, Mockito.
• DevOps and CI/CD: setting them up, Kubernetes.
• Experience with Cloud including on-prem, Containerization.
• Database experience: relational and non-relational.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to guide the team without overpowering, lead by example but give an opportunity to grow.
• Experience with contractors and/or offshore engineers is preferred.
• Staying on top of Copilot & AI tools.
• Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices.
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products.
• Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code.
• Creates optimal designs adhering to architectural best practices with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
• Performs analysis on failures and proposes design changes.
• Makes sound design decisions prioritizing customer experience.
• Takes feedback from code reviews and applies changes to meet standards.
• Conducts code reviews to share engineering best practices and compliance.
• Ensures all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
• Exhibits relentless focus on software reliability engineering standards.
• Embraces emerging tech and contributes to best practices for the bank’s transformation.
• Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Reviews tasks to ensure prioritization and sizing for incremental delivery; communicates blockers.
